Alvirne High School celebrates the arts

Sharon Valley from Bob’s Discount Furniture visited faculty and students at Alvirne High School on Oct. 12 to deliver a $5,000 cultural arts grant as part of Bob’s “Celebrate the Arts” contest. The contest is designed to support and maintain dance, music and the arts in schools, with Bob’s awarding a total of $45,000 in cultural grants to nine schools. Present for the presentation were Vicki Soto, who submitted the winning contest entry; Gerry Bastien, music teacher; and Byran Lane, principal.
