Windham Community Band celebrating 15th anniversary

WINDHAM – The Windham Community Band performed for the first time on Aug. 28, 1997, for the opening of the town’s new Nesmith Library building. On Saturday, Dec. 1, the band will celebrate 15 years of making music for the community. The event will be held at Searles School and Chapel from 2-5 p.m. Past and present band members, friends and family, business contributors and supporters from the town will gather to socialize, reminisce and celebrate the organization’s short but active history. The program will include a buffet lunch; musical entertainment by soloists and ensembles from the band; video of concert band, swing band and flute ensemble performances; band photos and memorabilia; and more. Past band members, supporters and friends of the band are encouraged to attend.
