NASHUA â The Humane Society for Greater Nashua recently honored two staff members as Employees of the Year for 2012.
Heather Mills and Joyce Hegarty were honored at the shelterâs annual Employee Appreciation Dinner.
Mills works part time as an administrative assistant and works behind the scenes to help administrative and adoption staff.
Hegarty is an animal care/adoption counselor and an advocate for the shelter and its pets. She has helped hundreds of cats and kittens find new homes.
âThe shelter is very proud to have both of these outstanding women on our team,â said Karen D. Bill, executive director. âThey are motivated, skilled, compassionate employees who routinely go above and beyond their responsibilities to care for our pets, help adopters and assist colleagues and shelter volunteers.
âHeather and Joyce make the Humane Society for Greater Nashua a better place for every pet and family that comes through our door.â
The Humane Society for Greater Nashua is the second busiest shelter in the state, taking in and caring for more than 2,500 pets annually.
