To the Editor: A heartfelt thank you to all those that have made our recent events a great success. Community auction: Our auction was a huge success, and will allow us to help our local and global ministries and preserve our beautiful historic meeting house. Thank you to Steve Desmarais for your auctioneer services. We are grateful to Bruce Beckley, Keith Hunt and all those who helped organize and run the auction; much time and effort was spent by many, and it is all greatly appreciated. And, of course, a round of applause to everyone who donated or bid on items; this successful event was really made possible by your generous actions, and we thank you very much. WA rummage sale: We would also like to thank all of our Woman’s Association members and their volunteers for their tireless efforts in the success of our recent annual rummage sale. The proceeds of this sale go to benefit both the church and the community. The Woman’s Association has been a central part of the life of The Congregational Church of Amherst for many years. Their purpose is “to cultivate the spirit of Christ beginning with our own lives and reaching out into the home, community and throughout the world.” Their dedication and commitment is a blessing to our church and our community.
