As college costs continue to skyrocket, many teens are seeking opportunities for employment in order to supplement their post-high school education plans.
However, given the current economy, itâs often difficult for many teens to find steady part-time employment that doesnât conflict with other activities in their busy schedules.
The Teen Job Bank in Amherst offers a solution to this problem. It finds out what jobs are available locally for Souhegan High School students, such as baby-sitting, yardwork, electronics assistance or tutoring, and matches interested students with the employers.
The system is simple. Teens fill out a form on the organizationâs website that includes information about themselves as well as the jobs in which theyâre interested. Community members interested in employing a local teen also fill out a form on the website, and the organization then matches the employer with a student.
The organization requires a rate of $10 an hour for every job.
