Alvirne Friends of Music hosts Comedy Night

HUDSON – The Alvirne High School Friends of Music, the parent volunteer organization that supports the Alvirne High School Music Department, is holding its second annual Comedy Night/Silent Auction on Oct. 13 at the Hudson VFW, 15 Bockes Road. Proceeds support the Music Department at Alvirne High School. In the past, the Friends of Music has helped purchase instruments, computers and other materials to support classroom activities, as well as provide financial support for field trips for the students in the high school band and choral programs. With more than 250 students involved in the various music groups at the high school, these expenses continue to grow. As an example, this year’s band has 189 students.
