NASHUA â Carol Ann Gould will share her cancer journey with the participants of the 2012 Nashua Light the Night Walk as the âHonored Heroâ at Greeley Park on Saturday, Sept. 29.
In December 2010, Gould, of Waltham, Mass., was looking forward to retirement, doing volunteer work, cooking and relishing the luxury of time. She had low white blood cell counts on yearly physicals for several years, but with no abnormalities.
A month after retirement, her plans drastically changed when a biopsy revealed myelodysplastic syndrome.
In 2011, Gould raised $1,013 during her first year of participating in the Light the Night Walk. Gould is a member of the Light the Night âMission Teamâ made up of local patients, their family members and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society support group members.
