A while ago, on one of those days I thought I would finally get to a list of things I had to do, we lost our electricity for several hours. It made me realize just how dependent we are on electricity. I got very little done that day. I could have, I suppose, swept the floor instead of vacuuming, but I canât go back to a typewriter for my writing.
Until the early 1900s, farm work depended pretty much on horses or oxen.![]()
