Do you want to get a better paying job? Do you want to develop skills to be a successful college student? Would you be surprised to learn that people with at least an associates (two-year) degree earn twice as much as people with high school diplomas or GED’S? If so, you are probably considering going to college or receiving additional training but perhaps don’t know where to start. The Adult Learning Center is offering a free, 15-week college-preparation program, Get Ready For College. This program is open to individuals who have been out of high school for several years and those who have a GED. The course is designed to refresh academic skills so students are able to save time and money by qualifying for credit courses rather than remedial courses and also assists them in choosing a career direction. Students take career interest, ability and value tests to help them determine a career path. There is intense academic preparation in math, reading and writing, as well as instruction in the use of the computer for research.
